Customer Management
and Convergent Billing
Central to our service
deployment platform is our Real-Time Billing Engine, a next-generation
OSS and charging solution that makes business intelligence
available in real time to other ServicePDQ components as
well as third party systems and applications.
The Real-Time Billing Engine provides unparalleled flexibility for service providers
to innovate, roll out, bill and serve customers. The Real-Time Billing Engine supports any type or combination of services,
with any rating model, from any information source or network.
And, because it is part of the ServicePDQ Transaction
Engine, the Real-Time Billing Engine integrates easily
with existing OSS platforms using standard industry methods.
With the Real-Time Billing Engine, Solegy delivers a new
paradigm to the OSS, enabling marketing creativity and helping
service providers operate more efficiently to reduce costs,
increase productivity, and increase revenue and customer
lloyalty.
Presence
and Mobility Management Server (PAM)
Similar to a mobile
home location register, the ServicePDQ Presence and Mobility
Management Server allows a subscriber to be associated with
multiple SIP terminals, allows each SIP terminal to register
its current IP address with the system, and permits the
subscriber to indicate availability and preference among
various terminals (using either telephone, web or SMS).
Like all other components in the ServicePDQ architecture,
location and registration information is made available
to other applications in real time.
Session Border
Controller (SBC)
The ServicePDQ
Session Border Controller (SBC) (sometimes referred to as
'Softswitch') provides intelligent network services for
VoIP endpoints by bridging session layer functions associated
with call control with the application layer functions available
through the Transaction Engine (TE). As a result, the advanced
account management, routing and presence capabilities made
possible by next-gen applications are extended directly
to the call control signaling path. But more than call control,
the SBC offers advanced functions such as protocol translation
between SIP and H.323, NAT traversal, IP address masking/RTP
proxying and session border control to facilitate VoIP deployments
in the widest possible variety of network environments.
Session
Rules User Agent (SRUA)
In SIP networks that
already utilize a Session Border Controller, service providers
can extend the ServicePDQ TE functionality to VoIP endpoints
using the ServicePDQ Session Rules User Agent (SRUA). The
SRUA is a back-to-back user agent that proxies SIP signaling
messages in order to impose ServicePDQ-based business policies
to a SIP session. Among other things, it acts as an application
launching platform to connect SIP sessions from a Session
Border Controller to a specific application.
Media Server
(MS)
The ServicePDQ
Platform is an innovative packet-based, software-only media
processor that serves as the a protocol-independent application
execution platform for ServicePDQ and 3rd party programs
that are created using either vXML or Parlay. Dramatically
simplifying the development and deployment of next-generation
telephony services, the MS provides a full set of media
processing functionality, including recording, playback,
DTMF processing, and text to speech. Because all MS functionality
can be accessed using standard web development tools, it
makes telephony application development as easy as web development,
removing the barriers imposed by proprietary hardware, such
as computer telephony boards.
Payment Gateway
Module (PGM)
The ServicePDQ Payment
Gateway Module is a flexible solution for real-time assisted
and self service payment transaction processing. It allows
end-users to initiate a payment for any service using the
interface of his choice (web, IVR or SMS) by abstracting
the users input from the interaction with the appropriate
financial or partner network. The payment may then be applied
to one or more of: the user's local account, his account
in a financial institution, the service provider's account,
or a third party merchant (such as a content provider) using
XML webservices.
- Service
Definition Module:
Manages service offerings, price plans, promotions,
routing tables and Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Customer
Care Module:
Provides customer life-cycle management (service order
management, service and customer management, customer
care and self care).
- Charging
Module:
Handles event & transaction-rating, billing, accounts
receivable and payment collection.
- Inventory
Module:
Tracking the status and assignment of any inventory
item, including IP addresses and telephone numbers.
- Report
Engine and Configurator:
Produces a wide range of "on-demand" reports
for all ServicePDQ applications with continuous updates
of data from across your network.
- Administrative
Console:
Create new services, change business rules, define and
enforce operating standards and over-see access privileges
and information distribution.
